Sapele- A Good Mahogany Substitute

Sapele is often used in the place of Mahogany because it has many of the same properties. Both are from the same botanical family, are medium hard woods, have a reddish-brown color and glue and finish well. Sapele is a little harder than mahogany and tends to be less expensive and more readily available.
